Is Bollywood A Representation Of Indian Cinema? Hindi Article

India is a country where almost 1900 films have been made during a twelve month period with the business of 1.6 billion dollars. Out of 1900 movies, almost 300 are being produced by Bollywood, the Hindi movie industry located in Mumbai, the city that lies on the west coast of India. The term used as the Synecdoche to reflect the absolute Indian film. Even though Bollywood is just a part of a big number of film industries existing in India, it is still the largest one of them all, and hence has its reach worldwide. Bollywood therefore is an Indian production, same as Hollywood being an American movie industry.

Bollywood has a profound history of Indian Cinema. If we take a glance on other film production centres, they do not have the much old history as Bollywood has acquired. It marked its beginning in the 19th century with the first soundless short film that did not release for viewing. The film was made by the Lumiere Brothers in the year 1896 at the Watson Hotel. Owing to limited technological advancement in India it was quite some time before movies had sound. In 1931, Bollywood released its first audible movie titled “Alam Ara”. From this very year, Bollywood has never turned back and released its first colored film titled “Kishan Kanya”. It marked the beginning of the Hindi cinema in several Indian Languages. Even World War 2 (1939-45) and Indian Independence (1947) could not be able to diminish Bollywood’s growth, which meant to spread awareness in Indian society.

According to census 2010, 376 million people on the entire globe speak Hindi. Owing to this the domination of Bollywood on Indian film industry is persisting at the present. The mass number of prominent actors and actresses as well as qualified directors illuminates ‘Hindi cinema’, which is why it has widespread spectators worldwide. The prominence of Bollywood had reached far as Hollywood invited many Bollywood’s actors to play roles in their movies. So, no other movie industry has as much fan following as Bollywood does. Due to this reason Hindi films have a massive budget and it always used to fire box office as a comparison to others’ language movies in India.

Bollywood also has more political impacts rather than the regional production company. This is because many actors turn into politicians and their screen image of being macho men who save the common masses from the evils of the society remains embedded with them. This makes the society see them as just their on-screen avatars and gets them voters in return. On the other hand, regional movies have not much political support, budget, concepts of grounded level and viewers. Since the last 10 years Bollywood has reached a new level when it comes to the quality and technicality of the films being made. The progress has been leaps and bounds.

Similarly, Bollywood personalities such as the directors, actors and others have become recognized figures throughout the globe. Some of them have even set their steps in Madame Tussauds, a wax museum in London, England, such as Amitabh Bachchan Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in A >> Read More... , Shah Rukh Khan Shah Rukh Khan or also known as SRK is a prominent >> Read More... , Salman Khan Salman Khan is a very famous Indian actor and a pr >> Read More... , Hrithik Roshan Hrithik Roshan with his unimaginable dance moves i >> Read More... , Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a popular Indian actress >> Read More... , Madhuri Dixit Madhuri Dixit is not just known as the also a smil >> Read More... , Kareena Kapoor Khan Kareena Kapoor is a super hit actress working in I >> Read More... . These are famous celebrities of Bollywood whose statues are there in the museum which are carved out of wax.

Bollywood has always catered to the entertainment of every age, thereby encompassing a mass audience. In this way, it has also reached to people at every corner of the world and become one of the most thriving businesses that every one wishes to associate with. The prominence of Bollywood is unstoppable and would be considered Synecdoche to Indian cinema by future generations too. These matters have played cardinal roles to title Bollywood, a Synecdoche of Indian movie industry and dominate the regional picture.
