Irrfan Khan, undeniably a distinct ‘Khan’ of Bollywood, is known for his serious roles that requires depth. He has met many types that have downed him and possessed him. He is a human being with more than just ordinary looks and has managed to lead the industry by storm with his ravishing performances. Post his graduation from the National School of Drama, he came to Mumbai and worked in several TV shows such as ‘Sara Jahan Hamara’, ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, ‘Chanakya’, etc. He made his debut with ‘Salaam Bombay!’ in 1988, and played the role of a letter writer. Till the end of the century, he did small parts in films like Ek Doctor Ki Maut, Such A Long Journey, Bada Din and ‘Goal’, which were unnoticed. He made his name with ‘The Warrior’ (2001), when it opened in the International Film Festival; it was regarded as his first breakthrough and turning point. His oeuvre is most known for ‘Maqbool’, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Irrfan was lucky to work with geniuses like 'Gulzar' Sahab and Vishal Bhardwaj to begin with. His work was praised by many national and International critics. Further, he worked in ‘Aan- Men At Work’, ‘Billu’, ‘Gunday’, ‘Haider’, ‘D-day’, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Piku’, ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’, ‘Jazbaa’, etc. He has done many realistic movies based on true incidents like ‘Talvar’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. Irrfan always tends to be a part of movies which are beneficial, entertaining and which have the scope of harnessing his talent.

If any writer, director has a good hand and low budget, chances are that they will opt for Irrfan Khan to work in their film. Irrfan Khan is an adult male who is recognized by Hollywood firstly, then by Hindi Cinema. He did The Warrior in 2001 which was a British-Indian film, and he was picked out by international directors first in this motion-picture show. He has acted a part in seven Hollywood’s movies, including ‘Life Of Pi’, Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, The Amazing Spiderman, ‘New York, I love You’, The Namesake, etc. He also played several characters in foreign language movies like British, Canadian and a Bangladeshi film, still to come. He did his job tremendously in these International movies, and directors and producers are keen to take him again in their movies. Though his movies are not in the club of 100 crores, but his method acting is praised by Indians as well as outsiders. He use to make out many experiments in his turn and holds all types of roles because he worries about acting and not the effects it will produce on the psyches of the consultations. For sure, he is a human being with many expressions.
