Ravali - Singer

Sruthi Ravali is an Indian Carnatic vocalist from Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. She was awarded the esteemed “Naad-Bhed- The Mystery of Sound” award by SPICMACAY and Doordarshan (2013). She lives in Dublin, Ireland. She also instructs a diverse group of pupils via Skype. Sruthi was raised in a household of artists and musicians and was given a solid cultural upbringing by her parents, Smt. Manda Sudharani and Dr. Manda Ramaprasad. She started studying music at three, studying under her mother, a very skilled Carnatic musician. Ravali’s parama guru, the late Sri. Ivaturi Vijayeswara Rao taught her the violin for more than ten years.

Vidwan Sri R.K. Shriramkumar and Vidwan Sri T.M. Krishna are Sruthi Ravali’s instructors. She is rated as an A-grade musician by All India Radio. Sruthi is well-known for having a distinctive voice tone called Power. She sings the tristhayi prayogas with such passion, comfort, and ease that the audience is often transfixed. She is a huge admirer of her native Telugu and frequently recites padyaalu, or poetry, at her concerts.

These poets include Pothana, Allasani Peddana, and Nannaya, the Telugu trinity known as Kavitrayam. Sruthi has a strong enthusiasm for working with others and is always trying to infuse fresh life into her singing. She recognizes the beauty of instrumental music because she plays the violin herself, and she frequently takes a deep interest in the accompanist’s participation during a concert. She has travelled extensively worldwide and received two invitations to the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Festival (2006 and 2015). She has performed at the Madras Music Academy (Spirit of Youth, H.C.L. concerts), Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Charsur Margazhi Sangeetotsavam, Brahma Gana Sabha, Naada Inbam, Nada Prabha, and other events. She has also won prizes at the R.T.P. concert and Rama Seva Mandali.
