Gali Penchala Narasimha Rao is an Indian writer and music director, and music composer born in 1903. He is popularly referred to as Gali Penchalaiah. His music has contributed to success in many movies, such as Balaraju in 1948.
His final film, Sri Seetha Rama Kalyanam by N.A.T. Pictures, was also his most popular one. The songs composed for Sri Rama and Seetha's wedding are frequently sung during numerous Telugu weddings. The song Seetharamula Kalyanam Chothamu Rarandi exemplifies the beauty of the lyrics and the tune. Ganakala and Ganavaridhi, two music books he wrote and released, are examples. He also wrote 1000 Telugu Keerthanas and 300 Tanavarnas with complete notations. They are in many ragas, talas, and unusual ragas as well. He composed varnams and Keerthanas in numerous new ragas that he established. In the span of his successful career, he has worked on over ten filmographies. He died on 25 May 1964.
