Prashanth Telugu

Prashanth was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is an Indian film actor who is popular for his performances in Tamil film industry. He has also been a part of various Telugu movies as well as Bollywood and Malayalam films.

His father is a well-known actor and director named Thiagarajan. Prashanth started his career at the age of 17 years with the film ‘Vaigasi Poranthachu’ and continued to be in fame for his following movies like ‘Chembaruthi’ (1992) and ‘Thiruda Thiruda’ (1993). But the movie which brought him immense popularity and stardom was a blockbuster rom-com ‘Jeans’ in the year 1998, which was directed by Shankar.

He was cast opposite to Aishwarya Rai and played a double role in the film. Rough times hit when his big project ‘Jambhavan’ had to go through hassles for production in the year 2006. The film was criticised and failed miserably on commercial; grounds. But he overcame this failure in his following films including the movie ‘Thagapansamy’ in the same year (2006) which was directed by Shiva Shanmugam. The film features Prashanth as a villager who was driven to do good.

The film was considered by the critique as a ‘one man show’ and his performance was highly appreciated though the plot had to go through some criticism. He had no project in his hand for a span of four years beginning from January 2007 till April of 2011.

But during this time he was said to be involved with two productions which were of heavy nature namely ‘Pooner Shankar’ and ‘Mambattiyan’. Prashanth also believed in making the most of business opportunities and, therefore, invested in opening a 12-floor jewellery store in the area of T Nagar in the city of Chennai in the year 2008.
