Sri Mani, an Indian Lyricist is known for his unique style. He mostly writes lyrics for the Telugu Film Industry, and has won many music awards for his unique work. He was born in Nandigama situated in the Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, India. He started his work in the year 2011 and is currently on a roll. In his early life, his parents died, and he was living with his grandparents since then. When he was eight, he dabbled into writing short stories and essays. During his graduation, his grandfather died. He dropped out of college and started looking for a job. He went to Hyderabad, and there Mr. Sukumar offered him a job of a lyricist. He then wrote the lyrics of his first film, '100% love' and received a lot of appreciation for it. Afterward, he started writing more songs, and people started recognizing him.

Sri Mani once told in an interview that he never sits with a motive to write instead, his songs always popped up while he is traveling, working, hanging out with his friends, etc. In the year 2011, he wrote lyrics for four movies and these were '100% love' in which he wrote 'A Square B Square' (Female and Male Version),' Aho Balu', and 'That is Mahalakshmi'. Ramajogayya Sastry was born on August 24, 1970 in the small village called Arepalli Muppalla, Ipur Mandal which is near Narasaraopet of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh to parents Suryaprakasa Rao and Saraswatamma in an agricultural family. His father was a priest and an agriculturist by profession. His mother is a home-maker. He was the only child of his parents. He is a Computer Science Engineer who persuaded his B.Tech from NIT Warangal and his Master’s degree in M.Tech at IIT Kharagpur. During his under graduation, he was very much passionate about writing and he involved into writing lyrics. He was very much interested in writing irrespective of his education which had nothing to do with his passion. Even though, he did not have any connections with regard to music in his family, he did not give up his interest and focused on both studies and music. After completing his Master’s in M.Tech at IIT Kharagpur, he started his professional career by joining in Bangalore as an engineer. It was at this time when the thunder stroke his life. He got the opportunity to write lyrics for more than 40 private albums. In between, he also worked in GE India Business Centre in Secunderabad. He penned his first lyrics for the Kannada movie YUVASENA, a remake of the Malayalam movie “4 the people”, which starred Bharath, Gopika, and Narain in the lead which deals with college students fighting injustice in the society. This movie was released on February 20, 2004. He, thus, started his career in Tollywood in this movie with two songs. Meanwhile, he wrote three Kannada songs from which he got the support from a noted film director and star V. Ravichandran, who introduced him to Krishna Vamsi, a renowned Telugu filmmaker. He introduced him to a famous award winning Indian lyricist who works for the Telugu industry. After which he got the golden opportunity to serve as an assistant to Sirivennela Seetharama Shastri. He was simultaneously working on a dubbed version. Only upon his insistence to Sirivennela Seetharama Shastri accepted him as his assistant and allowed him to compose to work on his lyric-writing skills. As his first remuneration for his two songs in the Tamil movie Yuvasena, he got Rs.20000. He has written lyrics for more than 100 movies in Telugu and he is also one of the most recognised and always called for lyricist in the Telugu film industry at present. He is also one of the top paid lyricists in the cinema industry. He charges about Rs.1.5 lakhs per song and is very quite famous for his modern and catchy lyrics. Though Telugu was his main focus, he also wrote a couple of songs in the Kannada film industry. He also worked on devotional songs. Mohan Babu, an actor/producer and Srinu Vytla, film director gave him the opportunity to work in many of their films before he became a star and rose to stardom with the song Om Namaste Bolo in the Telugu film Ready, which was his first major break. He also played an unaccredited role in King, a 2008 Telugu movie as a music assistant. He is also best known for his work in Dookudu (2011), Eega (2012) and Gabbar Singh (2012). But if I were to pick a father-figure, someone who has been more than a Godfather for me, it is Sirivennela Seetharama Shastri garu. I owe him a lot,” he said. Among his various songs, he likes: “Jago Jagore Jago” sang by Raghu Dixit. But the best is “Srimanthudu” because of his exceptional lyrics. He is one of the most successful lyricists of Tollywood by following the footsteps of the versatile Sirivennela creating a distinct mark for himself. Vanamali

Vanamali is a famous Hyderabad based Telugu lyricist and poet. His proper name is Mani Gopal, famously recognized by his pen name Vanamali. He was born on 20th May 1967 in Railway Kodur; a municipality in Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh and his mother tongue is Tamil. His very first composition as a lyricist was for a programme in Doordarshan which was sung by Vijaylakshmi Sarma. After this, his first project in Tollywood was for the movie Pithamagan directed by Bala in 2004. In 2007, he received the Nandi Awards as well as the Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist in Telugu for his compositions, “Oh my Friend” and “Aerey” respectively in the movie Happy Days. In 2008, he worked with the director Anish Kuruvilla in the movie Avakai Biryani. In 2009, he wrote the lyrics of the song “Karige Loga” in the movie Arya 2 directed and written by Sukumar, for which he was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist (Telugu) in 2010. In 2010, he also worked alongside the famous music director Harris Jayraj in the movie Orange for which he was again nominated for a Filmfare Award in 2011 for the song “Nenu Nuvvantu.” He worked in KV Anand’s Blockbuster Ko, and Jayendra Panchapakesan directed 180, in 2011. In 2012, he wrote the songs: “Beautiful Girl” and “Amma Ani Kothaga” for the movie Life is Beautiful. He was nominated in 2012 in the South Indian International Movie Awards and for the Filmfare Awards for his work in Life is Beautiful, in 2013. He was nominated in 2014 for the Filmfare Award for his work in two movies, Vikram Kumar’s Manam and Chandoo Mondeti mystery thriller Karthikeya. His most recent work was in the 2017 film Fidaa directed by Shekhar Kammula for writing two songs. He has also worked closely with Music maestro A. R Rahman while working in the 2013 Tamil Crime Drama film Kadali. He has worked on many more movies alongside major music composers in the industry in both Tamil and Telugu languages. Before becoming a renowned lyricist in the Telugu movie industry, he went to Madras University holds a Ph.D. in Telegu Literature with high honors. This knowledge of Telugu literature enriches his work as a lyricist and songwriter. He also worked as a reporter for a Telugu film weekly while in Sitara and worked there for almost ten years. However, he soon found his passion in writing lyrics. He is an important part in the legacy of music in this country.
