Gopalakrishnan, a legendary playwright and film lyricist, was born on 13 February 1930 in the village of Dasulla Kumudavalli, West Godavari District. After completing his studies in Business Administration in Bhimavaram, he began his career in the film industry in 1972 with the movie ‘Pasivani Paga,’ produced under the banner of ‘Young Turks Production.’ He became famous for ‘ Sivaranjani Sivaranjani is Telugu family oriented sentimental >> Read More... .’Â
He has a long association with the film and wrote several plays on societal issues, including ‘Chillarakottu Chittemma Ragajwala’ directed by Dasari Narayan Rao, in which the versatile actress ‘Ratnakumari’ played a phenomenal role. Other notable plays include Chilaka Gorinka and the historical drama ‘Punna Maderi.’
 His mentor, Nanduri Ramakrishnamacharya, a poet and critic, praised his exceptional work. Gopalakrishnan is a well-known Telugu lyricist famous for his contributions to movies such as’ Kudi Edamite,’ ‘Mangala Toranake,’ ‘Aiyanavallu,’ and many others. To date, he wrote over 70 songs, but unfortunately, we lost this versatile personality on 10 March 1993.Â
