PurneshKonathala is a director, writer, and cinematographer. He works in the Tollywood Film Industry and has released Telugu films. He is a creative as well as dedicated artist. As a filmmaker, he focuses on quality rather than quantity.He worked in the movie "I Wanna Be a Filmmaker" in 2008, as a writer and director. It was a short film. The story revolves around a guy who wanted to be a filmmaker, but his mother opposed it due to the career path being risky and uncertain. The movie takes a mysterious turn when an insightful man changes the guy's perspective. This film teaches us that it is okay to follow your passion and it is okay to take the road less traveled. In 2013 his film "Case No. 666/2013" was released.

It is a horror movie based on three friends named 'Bhaskar,' 'Chaitanya,' and 'Durga.' They come across a stranger, who joins these three, and all of them decide to stay in a haunted house. They carry cameras with them and record all the paranormal activities and bizarre happenings while are staying at that house. These friends start to go messing one after the other mysteriously. When the police begin investigating the matter, they recover three memory cards. These memory cared then leads to a horrifying revelation.

His other film, "Drushyam," is about Rambabu (played by VenkateshDaggubati), a cable operator and a movie buff, his wife Jyothi (played by Meena), and their two daughters. They get accidentally involved in an event that could cause serious issues. Then Rambabu takes the initiative to save his family from the consequences of the happenings of that event. "Drushyam" is the Telugu remake of the original film.
