Gautham made his debut in the film industry at the age of 7 with the Psychological thriller Telugu film 1-Nenokkadine (directed by Sukumar and released in 2014)wherein he plays a younger version of the lead male character that is portrayed by none other than his father, Mahesh Babu.

He appeared in some flashback scenes from the past and wowed the audience with his cuteness. He also had the necessary voice and emotional modulations that were required for the scenes. Though Gautham has always been passionate about acting, his main focus has been on his studies. After the debut alongside his father, rumours are abuzz that he will now feature in a short film which will star his entire family including his younger sister. This film will act as an endeavour to raise funds for ‘Heal a child’ Foundation. Gautham has plans for making it big as an actor but only after completing his studies.
