The movie was directed by A Karunakaran, and G V Prakash Kumar was the music composer. The movie revolved around the story of an innocent girl, Dhanalaxmi, who is the daughter of a rich landlord. After Dhanalaxmi’s death, her father marries Kavitha. Latter treats Dhanalaxmi as a step daughter.

After her father’s death, the entire property and money are inherited by Dhanalaxmi, and this doesn’t go well with her stepmother. Kavitha forces Dhana to marry the guy, whom the former had chosen. Dhana escapes from her step mother and finds refuge in her friend’s home. Afterward she meets Aravind and befriends him. Aravind falls for her, but she convinces him that she is in love with another man, Balaji.
