He has studied B.Sc in Visual Communication at the University of Madras. In 2006, he completed his Advanced Photography course at Ambitions4 Photography Academy. Later, he learned Film cinematography and production from Midscreen Film Institute. Till today he has worked in several movies and is working on a number of upcoming projects.

Navin started his career as an assistant cinematographer in 2008 and released the Tamil movie, Sarithiram, directed by Samy.
