Fakirrao Munjaji Shinde or F. M. Shinde is a Marathi writer. He was born in the year 1948 in the small village of Rupur in Kalamnuri Taluka of Hingoli district, Maharashtra. He has published three compilations of his literary critiques, twenty four collections of his poetry, a translation of a book, a collection of his one-act plays, and a collection of his humorous essays. Shinde is also a Marathi professor. Some of Shinde's poetry collections are Adima (1975), Swanta (1973), and Awashesh (1979). He has also written other works like Nirvasit Nakshatra, Aai ani Itar Kavita, Kshetra, Mi Samil Samuhaat, and many others. He has received several awards for his poetry, including three Maharashtra state awards, Vikhe Patil Award, Asmitadarsha Award, Damani Literature Award, and Parimal Award. He even served as the President of the 87th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, which was held in Saswad in 2014. He was also selected to preside over Marathwada Sahitya Sammelan, which was scheduled to be held in December 2009.
