Vitthal Wagh is a poet, author, and lyricist of Indian origin. His full name is Vitthal Bhikaji Wagh and was born on January 1, 1945. He gained recognition for his work in the Varhadi dialect, which is spoken in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. He was born in Hingani, Taluka Telhara in Akola district, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Marathi and a doctorate in the study of traditional Varhadi quotes. Over a career that spans more than 50 years, Vitthal Wagh has written novels, movie and drama dialogues, poetry collections, songs, and a drama called Andhar Yatra. His novel Debu tells the life story of Gadge Maharaj, and his poem Kaya Matit Matit and the corresponding song from the film Are Sansar Sansar depict the plight of Indian farmers.

Wagh has presided over several literary and poet gatherings and participated in Kavi sammelans worldwide. The poetry collections by Vitthal Bhikaji Wagh include Kaya Matit Matit, Saay, Vedarbhi, Pauspani, Kapashichi Chandrafule, Vrushabhsookta, Mateecha Zarto Dola, Pandharichya Watewar, Gaavsheel, and Ujedache Daan Dyawe. He has written the novels Debu, Debuji, and Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh. He has also contributed to films such as Devkinandan Gopala (plot and dialogues), Raghu Maina (dialogues), Survata (songs), Shambhu Mahadevacha nawas (songs), Dom (song), and Zari (song), as well as the television series Gotya (plot and dialogues). Apart from his writing, Wagh is renowned for his glass craft technique, which he uses to decorate the walls of his friends' and relatives' houses. He has also organized poet dindis and other activities to support farmer rights.
