Raju Phulkar is a movie director, story-writer and Art director in the Marathi movie industry. He has done a Government diploma in Arts. He has more than 3 decades of experience in various aspects of filmmaking. He has directed many films, dramas and serials, and has also made a few video CD films on Saints like Sant Namdev and Sant Janabai. In 2009, he directed another movie, “Hastil Tyache Daat Distil”. He has written more than 40 Scripts for Dramas and one-act Plays. He is also the founder and Dean of Raju Phulkar's Film Academy, an institution that offers Courses in Acting, Direction, Art-Direction and Script Writing, in Pune, Maharashtra.

His contribution to the Film Industry has gained him various prestigious Awards like Z Gaurav, Z Talkies and V Shantaram Puraskar. He has also won Awards for being the Best Jury for Competition programs like Sakal, Firodiya Karandak, Purushottam Karandak and many more.
