Ram Ugaonkar, or Shahir Ram Ugaonkar, is an Indian poet, lyricist, and scriptwriter. He has written famous songs in the Marathi film industry. Ram Ugaokar was born in the Ugav village of Nashik. He was the disciple of Shriwadkar Alias Kusumagraj. Ram Ugaonkar is an Indian poet and lyricist. Before being a writer in the film industry, he was a school teacher. He taught in Janata Vidyalaya in Yevala. He worked there as a teacher for a few years. He has written various kinds of dramas, films, film songs, and poems. Ram Ugaonkar has written songs for films like Zidd, Paygun, Navra Majha Brahmachari, Mosambi-Narangi, Bhimgarjana, and Gharandaj. He also wrote for the TV serial Sant Gadge Gaba. 

One of his famous songs is Jaijaykar. He wrote the song for the film Joshi Ki Kamble. He has written multiple songs for the film Zidd. Vay Majhe Kashala Pusta, Tujhi Majhi Sangaat, and Sugandha Gavat Ali are all from the film Zidd. He is also known for his famous song, Omkara Aadiananta. Ram Ugaonkar has been honored with the Dalit Mitra Award by the state government of Maharashtra. He was also honored by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natay Parishad. The famous lyrics writer and poet Ram Ugaonkar died in the year 2013. He was 85 years old when he died due to a brief illness.
