Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane is an Indian International Cricketer. In Test Format he plays as a middle-order batsman and a top-order batsman in white-ball forms. Born to a middle-class family in the Dombivli suburb of Mumbai, Rahane was supported by his family to follow his passion for cricket. He started his training at the age of seventeen with Pravin Amre.
He made his first debut in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy season for Mumbai. Rahane was a crucial factor in Mumbai's 38th title win in the Ranji Trophy with 1089 runs in his second Ranji season. March 2013 Border–Gavaskar Trophy was his first Test debut. At Basin Reserve, Wellington against New Zealand Rahane made his first Test century. With 688 points, Rahane ranked 15th in the ICC Test batting rankings as of May 2021.
Rahane was the vice-captain of the Indian International Team in the Test matches. In domestic cricket, he represents his home-state Mumbai and in IPL he is part of the Delhi Capitals. Rahane is the 5th Indian Batsman to score centuries in each innings of a Test. He also holds the record for the highest number of catches by a non-wicketkeeper in a single Test match. In 2018 he was ranked sixth in the Top 20 Most Desirable Men of Maharashtra by TOI. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 2016. He is married to his friend Radhika Dhopavkar. They have a three-year-old daughter, Aarya.
