Gowri Jayakumar is a Goa-based musician. She was born in Trivandrum and brought up in Delhi. She works with all different music fonts. Gowri is a music producer, composer, singer, songwriter, etc. She is also a founder of the multimedia imprint Orbs Cure Labs. In addition, Gowri is also a label head at OCL Records with the music producer Ryan Kardam. She has always been a nerdy and creative child. From a young age, she was fascinated with the media industry. Her musical journey started when her parents promised to gift her the electric guitar if she performed well on her boards. After completing her schooling, she went to Pune for higher studies and decided to take journalism as a profession. And she also worked at one of the leading news channels for seven years. But, deep down, she realized that she did not want to do this her entire life.

She was juggling between a full-time job and her passion. But, she had to make a decision at this stage of life. And on that note, she switched her career from being a journalist to now a musician. She was leading one of her music projects called Run Pussy Run. And while leading the project, she developed more interest in music production, recording, and DJ-ing. She decided to take a leap of faith and her journey as a musician under the alias Pulpy Shilpy. She is an outspoken and opinionated woman. She has been a part of several collaborations, national and international. She has completed twenty years in the indie music industry. Her music glorifies a woman and their womanhood. Through her music, one can easily sense she is a strong feminist. She has made music for tonnes of advertisements, movies, etc. She has created music for some big films in the industry, like Detective Byomkesh Bakshi. The film released in 2015.
