Marathi Singer Saudagar Nagnath Gore

Saudagar Nagnath Gore was an Indian singer and a Maratha singer-composer. He was born on 10th March, 1918, in Bhadale, Mumbai. From childhood, nature gifted him with a sweet voice. Anant Hari Gadre, a social reformer, titled ‘Chhota Gandharva’ to him. He made theatre famous by playing the roles of Krishna in Sangeet Saubhadra, Charudatta in Mrichchakatika, and many more. Later in 1963, he started his theatre called ‘Kalavikas’ along with other artist; however, this organization could not be financially successful, and eventually closed down due to debt burdens. In 1978, he did experimental roles under Akhil Bhartia Marathi Natya Sammelan. He re-lived his life by doing hobbies of reading old texts, studying astrology, and playing Cricket. He died on 31 December, 1997 at KEM Hospital in Pune.
