Girish Panchwadkar

Girish Panchwadkar is a successful Marathi singer, music composer and director. He was born on 1st July, 1960 in Solapur, Maharashtra. His father Bhalchandra Panchwadkar was his Guru who taught him music and led him the path. He formed a music band called ‘Kshitij’and started performing on stage through a program called “Shabdswaranche Indradhanushya" in Solapur in 1992. He continued performing with this group “Kshitij” in every Ganesh festival in New Delhi for over 10 years. He had been featured in the All India Radio, Solapur for several times. Moreover, he had also performed on E-TV Marathi and Doordarshan. He presented his Sugam Sangeet programmes in all major cities of Maharashtra and also in Kanpur, Delhi, Jhansi, Lucknow, Faridabad, Indore, Bhopal, Chennai and other cities. His performances were loved and highly praised by many legendary music directors and composers. He got the opportunity to perform 'Marathi Bhavgeet Maifal' in the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi in 2nd March, 2009. Apart from his successful musical career, Girish works as the Bank Manager in Bank of Maharashtra. He has been an employee there since July 1982. He had been honored with many awards for his career like Gunwan Kamgar Puraskar by the Maharashtra Government, Maharashtra Gunijan Ratna Kalagaurva Puraskar, Indapur Bhushan Puraskar and many others.
