She always dreamed of becoming a journalist as her father himself is a photojournalist. By the time she finished her Graduation and Post-graduation in the English Language, she had started to love teaching.
She did journalism from Thiruvananthapuram Press Club. She was also interested in music and has had lessons in music since a very early age which is why she anchored 'Megharagam.' Arathi also gets a lot of acting offers, yet she's not interested, she says. She loves teaching, and thus she works as a teacher in a private college.
