Kim Kwang-Sik is a director cum screenplay writer born on 6th March 1972. Kim started his career as a screenwriter in 1997 with the drama, Snail, featuring Lee Mi Sook and Lee Jung Jae. He had also worked as the script editor in 3 PM Paradise Bath House directed by Kwak Kyung Taek. In 1999, he penned the screenplay for Inner Circle. In 2002, he wrote the drama, Last Statement. In the same year, he worked as an assistant director in Oasis, directed by Lee Chang-Dong. In 2007, he wrote, Off-Road, the road movie. In 2009, Kim co-wrote the series, The Return of Iljimae, a period drama featuring Jung Il Woo in the lead role.

In 2010, he made his solo directorial debut with the film, My Dear Desperado. Park Joong Hoon and Jung Yu Mi. The film was appreciated for its characterization, performance, and direction. Although the film was not promoted well, it reached the audience well and earned a good name for the actors and the director. At the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Kim received the Best New Director award. Besides this, Grand Bell Awards and Korean Film Awards filled his shelves. In 2011, he played a cameo role in The Suicide Forecast directed by Jo Jin Mo. In 2013, Park Joong Hoon made his directorial debut with Top Star and Kim Kwang-Sik did a cameo role. Next year, Kim helmed Tabloid Truth, the crime thriller flick, featuring Kim Kang Woo, Ko Chang Seok, Jung Jing Young, and Park Sung Woong. Like his previous film, this movie also grabbed the attention of the audience and critics. In 2018, he directed The Great Battle, a historical film related to Tang Dynasty. Jo In-sung, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Park Sung-Woong were cast in the main roles. Besides releasing with a huge competition, the film managed to grab a lump sum as profit.
