Saagar Gupta

Saagar Gupta is a famous writer, producer, and lyricist. He was born on 4 March 1969. He has worked in many films, TV series, and short movies. He was a founding team member of the Kashish Mumbai Queer Film Festival,  and after its establishment in 2010, he was also its programming director. Apart from this, Sagar has also worked with the Children's Film Society as a Junior Festival Officer for the Golden Elephant International Children's Film Festival of India.

His film Evening Shadows won many awards, including Best Director, Best Feature Film, Vincenzo Ruggiero Award, Best Narrative Feature, Jury Award, Best LGBTQ Film, Best Film - Honorary Mention, Best Foreign Feature, Best Film, Best Feature Film (2018), Public's Choice (Audience Award), Best Drama Feature, and Interfaith Discernment Award. Apart from this, his film Breaking Free won the Barbara Gittings Human Rights Award.
