Naish Hasan was born in Teri village in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh and now resides in Lucknow. She is a women's rights activist and founding member of Bhartiya Muslim Mahila Andolan. When the Qazi is always supposed to be a male, she stood firm to break the norm and requested a female Qazi to complete her Nikah ceremony. Naish works to support Muslim women and issues related to them. Also, she is the first woman in the country to hold a Ph.D. in Muslim women's studies. Naish raised her voice against the practices like Nikah-Halala, Nikah-Mutah, Misyar marriage, polygamy, and the Sharia law of 1937 in the Muslim community. She advocated for the victims of such cases. Her initiation created a substantial social movement resulting in the eradication of the Triple Talaq.
