Mamta Alva is an Indian television writer, novelist, Freelancer, and book author who wrote for Sony TV's popular show CID. She was born in Mumbai. She completed her primary education from Carmel Of Saint Joseph School and graduated with a Masters in Arts with English from Mumbai University in 1991. Before she became a famous writer, she worked as an assistant writer for many serials like Prithviraj Chauhan and Solah Shringar, etc. In 2007, she joined as a junior writer for the Tracinema Production house.
In 2008, she worked as an associate writer for several GEC shows. She is a specialist in writing humor, fantasy and thriller stories. She is fluent in Marathi, Hindi, and English. From 2013 to 2017, Mamta wrote various television series like Shapath, Baat Hamari Pakki hai, Raja ki Aaygi Baarat, Gruhasti, Aise Na Karo Vidaa, Nanhi Pari, Saamiddle-class, etc. In 2018, she developed stories for web talkies. Mamta wrote a book called “Have some Chili snakes”, which is available on Amazon.
'Have some Chili snakes' is a story of Nina and her fellow resident, based on their dirty politics, their shenanigans, dissembling, hidden lives, and deceptions. "Have some chili snakes" describes adulterous affairs, compulsive gossip, a much-hated dog lover, juvenile eloping, the loud Punjabi family, the espionage neighbors, the simple housewife, and ostensibly uneventful lives. Their closed doors hold a different story.
She is married and has two children. Mamta is fluent in comedy both on paper and in life.
