Amaresh Misra is an Indian historian, politician, scriptwriter, journalist, civil rights activist, political analyst, and conspiracy theorist. He went to Allahabad University to complete his studies in 1987 and was active in the student union. He is a columnist in several Indian newsprint outlets and writes on foreign policy, art, culture, cinema, politics, and civil rights. He was the co-writer for the script of the movie Bullet Raja. His self-written books gained popularity and earned him a reputation as a writer.
His self-written books are Lucknow: Fire of Grace: The Story of its Renaissance, Revolution and the Aftermath, published in 1998; The Minister’s Wife, published in 2002; Mangal Pandey: The True Story of an Indian Revolutionary, published in 2005; War of Civilizations: India AD 1857, Vols 1 and 2, published in 2007. He received the Jasarat Award in 2007 from The Urdu Press Club of India, and renowned historian Irfan Habib in collaboration with Aligarh Group, awarded him for historical work in 2022.
