Born as Divya Desai on 4th August, 1986, in Nagaon, Assam, she studied in Ulubari High School and learnt the Kathak and Bharatnatyam styles of dance.

She began acting at an early age and was featured in many Bhojpuri films, including Pyar Jab Kehu Se Hoi Jala, Kab Hoi Gauna Hammar, Balma Bada Naadan, Bambai Ki Laila Chapra Ka Chaila, Tohse Pyar Ba, and Sathi Sanghati. She also performed in the Hindi film, Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke, and had cameo appearances in Dabangg 2 and the Assamese movie, Konnyadaan.
