Mona was born in Marathi family on March 5 in Mumbai. She completed her schooling in Kendriye Vidyalaya, Mumbai. She started her career by advertisement in television. She entered in silver screen in movie named “Zakhmi Zameen” release in 1990. Later she plays side role in many Marathi and Hindi movies. She even featured in various television dramas like “” and “Just Mohabhat” aired on Star Plus and Sony Entertainment respectively.

Few of her movies names are Mriyudand in 1997, Hazaar Churasi Ki Maa in 1998, Bindaast in 1999, Dead End in 2000 it’s a t.v movie, Phir Bhi Dil hai Hindustani in 2000 she got a chance work with Shahrukh Khan and , Bakra in 2003,Yeh Hai Chakkad Bakkad Bumbe Bo in 2003, I white Noise in 2004, a cameo role in Mangal Pandey:The Rising in 2005, Gandhi, My Father and Buddha Mar gaya in same year 2007, Hijack in 2008 playing a character of Simmon. She has been active in theatre work with Ekjut and Nadira Zaheer Babbar and co-directed and Acted in a play titled "Harem" based on the life of the great explorer and anthropologist, Sir Richard Burton, at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in '2000. There are few movies in which she played as main lead such as baharon ki manzil, kaala such, bonny, chirantan and currently seen in a Cameo in Mardani. Television serial in which she appeared are thoda sa aasman, , Banjara and Bramhand.
