Divyaalakshmi was born on 26 January 1985 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She finished her education in her birth city Dehradun and has a Masters degree in Economics. Ever since she was a child she showed interest in dancing and acting, participating in stage shows and local plays. Even though she didn't receive her family's support to pursue her career as an actress, at the age of 22 Divyaalakshmi moved to Mumbai. She struggled for two years before she got her first TV role, working as a voice-over artist, recording ads and commercials, teaching under privileged children in rural areas in South Bombay, and was an active member and follower of the Art of Living Foundation. She had her TV debut in the sitcom FIR on SAB TV where she played the role of Jokila Shah, after which she performed as Meenal in the daily Indian soap opera Jyoti. Shapath in which she played the role of Bulbul. Her most significant role is in the Indian historical fiction drama called Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap and she performs as Sajja Bai Solankni. Regarding her personal life, she is actively engaged in dancing, especially belly dancing which is her passion. She is not married yet, and is not in a love relationship as well.
