Barkha Madan is an Indian television actress, a supermodel who has also acted in Hindi films and many other international films. Barkha Madan is also a producer and owned a production company named Golden Gate Creations LLC.

Barkha was born in the year 1974 in Punjab in a family with army background. She completed her college education with Honours in English Literature. While studying in college, she took interest in modelling. Barkha Madan came into limelight after she became runner up of Femina Miss India pageant 1994 along with Aishwarya Rai, and Shwetha Menon. She went on to become runner’s up at Miss Tourism International held in Kualampur, Malaysia in the year 1994. After her successful stints in the beauty contests, Barkha Madan took up modelling seriously and went on to become a very successful and sought after supermodel. Meanwhile, acting offers in Hindi film industry came flooding in and finally Barkha gave her nod to acting and she made her debut in Bollywood in the year 1996 with the , and Rekha starrer blockbuster Hindi movie Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. After this movie, she got lots of acting offers but she decided to be selective. Next Barkha Madan was seen playing the role of Ghost in Ram Gopal Verma’s blockbuster movie Bhoot in the year 2003 where her performance earned her rave reviews. Barkha Madan also appeared in Indian television serials like Saat Phere, Ghar ek sapna, 1857: Kranti delivering performances of high octane. She also featured in international films and produced critically acclaimed and successful films like Soch Lo and Surkhaab under her own production company with herself featuring in the lead role. In the year 2012, actor Barkha Madan turned to Buddhist Nun and under the supervision of Lama Zopa Ringpoche and changed her name to Ven Gyalten Samten.
