Surendra Rajan is best known for his facial resemblance to Gandhi. He is a very strong actor and has been in this industry for the last 20 years. He has acted in about 80 movies till date. He has appeared in a number of TV commercials and TV shows as well. His major successes include: Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. where he played the character ‘Maqsood Bhai’ the sweeper; Lage Raho Munna Bhai where he appeared as Gandhi; The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Netaji – The Last Hero where again he was seen as Gandhi, and many more. He also acted as Gandhi in the series ‘The Last Days of Raj’ aired by BBC CH4. He appeared in Italian movie ‘Indian Nocturne’ and Russian movie ‘The Indian’. He also acted in the Hollywood movie ‘One Night with the King’ where he played the character of a Hebrew priest. He has been part of many short films, among which ‘The Cabin Man’ grabbed immense international attention. It was screened at 15 different International film festivals.  Surendra acted in the popular TV series ‘Bandini’. He won the ‘Best Actor’ award at ‘Queens World Film Festival 2011’. Sushil Bounthiyal, a very promising new actor, has graduated from the National School of Drama in 2002, specializing in dialect. After passing, he started acting in theatre in Delhi. Later, he moved to Mumbai to try his luck on films. He has gained popularity after acting in the TV Serial ‘Phulwa’ which was telecasted on Colors Channel. His powerful performance in this show, as Phulwa’s father, will be remembered for a long time. He has also acted in ‘Gustakh Dil’ aired on Life OK. He will soon be seen in Zee TV’s ‘Zilla Chhapra’. He has recently made his appearance in big screen through the movie ‘Gulaab Gang’ where his co-stars were legendary actresses Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. In this film, he played the role of Juhi Chawla’s secretary who supports all her notorious works. He had to struggle a lot at the beginning of his career as an actor. He acted in films ‘Billu Barber’ directed by Priyadarshan, ‘Aagey Se Right’directed by Indrajit Nattoji and ‘Lamhaa’ directed by Rahul Dholakia; unfortunately, his roles were cropped off from all these films. Survival became a challenge for him as he was not being lucky enough. He started acting in Nadira Babbar’s theatre group named ‘Ekjute’. He also took acting classes and workshops there. He took diction classes as well. He was offered by Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez to teach her diction and dialect, however, due to his busy schedule he couldn’t make time. He never wanted to act in TV, in just happened. His aim was to work in movies. ‘Gulaab Gang’ is only the starting for him in silver screen. There is no doubt that such a hardworking and confident person like him will go further up his career very soon.
