Himanshu Sharma had started his career by writing for TV shows. He was a script writer with NDTV for a health show. This successful writer started his career in Television. He began his career writing story for serials like Kkusum in Sony V and Bhootwala for SAB TV. After several years of writing scripts for TV serials, he gradually moved on to script writing for Bollywood films starting with the movie Strangers with . Later on he wrote scripts for Raanjhanaa and Tanu weds Manu Series (2011 and 2015).

After the success of these three films, he wants to evolve as a director now. The success of Tanu weds Manu Series made him to lure into film direction.
