Akash Chawla is an Indian mediaperson. Currently the Essel Vision Productions Business head, Mr. Akash Chawla has been an instrumental figure in building many of ZEEL (Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.) brands and campaigns. Presently, he heads content making in films in several languages and is also involved in producing television shows in Hindi, Marathi and Tamil. Prior to this, Mr. Chawla has served at Zee Network in varying capacities, ranging from the Brand Head of ‘Zee TV’ in 2005 to Executive Vice President, Marketing, National Channels, ZEEL, where he was the brand, research and communications head for general Hindi entertainment channels such as ‘Zee TV’ and ‘Zee Cinema’.

Akash Chawla is often credited for data-driven strategies that have helped various Zee channels to establish, maintain and maximize an ever-increasing worldwide viewership. Before coming in contact with Zee, he held the post of Marketing Manager at TAM Media Research Ltd, where he co-authored research papers which garnered acclaim across the world. One among them was presented at WAM (World Audience Measurement) conference held in Montreal, Canada in 2005.

Mr. Akash Chawla received his early education from St. Blaise High School, Mumbai. Following which he joined the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies where he was a student of B.Com from 1993 to 1998. He further went on to complete his MBA from Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai from 1999-2001. He has received many accolades and awards for his exemplary contribution in the field of media and communications. Major ones include a series of BDA awards, as well as a mention in the Guinness book of World Records for Biggest Bollywood Dance for 'Dance India Dance'.
