The name Shyam is all we need to say about this person. Yes, he is our own Shyam, the one who made his mark on screen for his role as Shyam in the TV serial, “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon”. His character was so perfect and realistic that he use to get hate mails from the audience in large, and was disappointed at first that he is being hated for his on screen character, but later learned that his work is so well and this is Indian audience who take on screen characters so seriously that they forget it's just acting and not real at all. Later, he adapted to it and was happy that his work is so strong and is given so much importance.
Personal Life: Abhaas Mehta is from Mumbai, and he studied law after completing graduation. Abhaas was a tennis practitioner as he wanted to do a course in sports management, because tennis is the next most popular sport after cricket. Thus, he opted tennis, though he did not have any keen interest to make a professional career in tennis. Later, he studied law as his friends too joined law. Then, how he learnt such good acting skills especially in negative roles, the answer is he did drama when he was in school. Abhaas is blessed to have a sweet and small family- his father, mother and a sister. He played negative roles mostly, and the audience also liked him for his grey roles. His friendship with
Akshay Dogra and
Deepali Pansare, co-stars of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, is very deep. Abhaas does not have any interest in relationships right now, as he is more focused on his career at this time.
Career: Abhaas too started his career as a model then entered the small screen with a show on the channel, Colors. After making his presence felt with his negative role, he was approached for Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan, on Zee. In this serial, he again has a grey side, but later he quit the show as he did not want to play the same role again and again. He was approached to play a negative role once again, but Abhaas wanted to try something different this time. Furthermore, the production house did not keep to the words, which they promised to Abhaas, so he left the show after giving it a try. The show went off air soon, because of low TRP, though the cast was very good and filled with popular actors from the industry, an example being Sanjeeda Shaikh. Shyam was seen playing a cameo role in a popular show on Colors. He debuted through a show on Colors only, which was a good start for him. Both shows were liked by the audience.
