He was known for playing the lead role as Arnav Singh Raizada in the romantic comedy soap “Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon?” in which he was paired opposite

He was acclaimed and received many awards for his role in this serial such as “Favorite Jodi”, “Favorite International Jodi”, “Favorite Naya Sadasya” and “Most Stylish Sadasya” in Star Parivaar Awards. Then he got the award for the “Best Actor in a Lead Role” in The Global Indian Film and TV Honors, “Favorite TV Drama Actor” and “Favorite On-Screen Jodi” in People’s Choice Awards India, and the “Best Actor Popular Award” in the Indian Television Academy Awards. He also received the Indian Telly Award for “Best Onscreen Couple” along with Sanaya Irani in Indian Telly Awards.
Barun was brought up in Keerti Nagar in Delhi and got his education in Meera Bagh. He was born in a Punjabi family that hailed originally from Delhi. He can speak Punjabi, Hindi and English languages. At first, he started working as an Operation Manager for seven years in Jindal Telecom. Subsequently, he moved to Mumbai to be an actor. He passed his photos for a show, but unluckily, he wasn’t accepted because of budget issues.

” where he played as Shravan Jaiswal, a wealthy brat who was engaged to a contract marriage. He was nominated for “Best Actor” in 2011 Star Guild Awards for his role in this serial.
In 2013, he was given the title “Third Sexiest Asian Man” by Eastern Eye of UK Magazine. Then he signed in Bollywood films, “22 yards” and “Main Aur Mr. Right”. Viewers of “Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon?” were unhappy about the show going off-air. They also sent e-mails to the directors of the show requesting for the show to continue. But the wish of the fans was not fulfilled because of the movie commitments of Barun. He was also scheduled for filming the upcoming “Satra ko Shaadi Hai” film in 2015.
