Ramji Bali is a playwright, actor, and director. He was born on 1 March 1974, in Faridabad, Haryana. He completed his training in theatre with a two-year course at the Shri Ram Centre,
, during the period 1994-1996. He specialized in acting from the National School of Drama (NSD) in 1998 and graduated in 2001. He joined the NSD Repertory and was there from 1997-98. Bali's career in theatre began in 1993, by acting in the play 'Bichchhu,' a Hindi play written by Moliere, directed by Gulshan Walia. He directed many dramas such as The Proposal, Ek Ladki Panch Diwane, Dulari Bai, etc, with his theatre group named Zealot Theatre. He founded a theatre group 'Theatre Wala’ in 2001. He directed many Sanskrit and modern plays such as Mitti ki Gadi, Bhagawaddjukiyaam, Monalisa ki Muskan, etc, which were presented by his theatre group.
Ramji Bali is director of the New National School of Drama, Varanasi. He has done around half a dozen plays based on the works of Kalidas, Bhavabhuti and Bhasha, among others. He directed many Hindi short stories and plays like Nalanda, Mujhse Pehli si Mohabbat Mere Mehboob Na Mang, Koi Baat Chale, Gulam Radharani ke (based on Bharatendu Harishchandra), Sarat Chandra – Ek Awara Masiha, and Swami Vivekananda. Ramji Bali received a fellowship for the Saang (Swang) folk theatre of Haryana awarded by the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and for his project on ‘Importance of Hindu Mythology in Hindi Theatre,’ awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Ramji also received the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2011 for his remarkable talent in playwriting in Hindi and the Sangeet Natak Akademi's Youth Award. His poems and theater-related articles are published in many national papers. He has played many roles in TV serials and Films.
In 2013, Ramji acted in 'Commando: A One Man Army,’ a 2013 Indian action film directed by
