Amit was always a lover of movies since his childhood. At the age of around 14 or 15, Amit ran away from his house with 1000 rupees in his pocket to Mumbai to become an actor.

After various failed attempts to get into Bollywood, eventually, he ran out of money and did come back home. His father supported his ambition and assured him that he has the full support of his father in this dream. Amit grew up poor, his father ran a Paani Poori stall and Amit used to work part-time for him, he would also sell Dhoklas and do many other small odd jobs on the side to earn a little extra cash.

But all this time, he had only one ambition that was to be an actor. In the 9th standard, Amit started modeling and looking to get into any kind of show business work. After two years, he got into the TV industry and made small appearances in Telugu TV serials. He eventually got his acting roles in three movies, all of which were complete disasters commercially. Since then, he starred in 8 other projects, Kabir Singh being one of them, which was the remake of Arjun Reddy, where Amit reprised his role.
