Amit Rohidas is a well-known Indian hockey player from Odisha. His playing position is a defender in the Indian National Team. He is the tenth player of Odisha to play for the Olympic Games. He was born on 10 May 1993 in Saunamara, Sundergarh, Odisha. In 2004, Amit joined Panposh Sports Hostel, Rourkela, to play hockey. In 2009, he was selected in the National Junior Team. In the 2013 Asia Cup, Ipoh got selected in the senior squad, and the team won the Silver medal.
He represented India in the Junior Asia Cup(2012) Malacca, Hockey World League(2016-17) Bhuvneshwar, Asia Cup (2017) Dhaka, Champions Trophy(2018) Breda, Olympics Games (2020) Tokyo, Asian Games(2022) Hangzhou, Commonwealth Games(2022) Birmingham, Asian Champions Trophy (2023) Chennai and many more. The team won Gold in Asian Games(2022) Hangzhou, Asia Cup (2017) Dhaka, Asian Champions Trophy (2023) Chennai, Silver in Asia Cup (2013) Ipoh, Commonwealth Games(2022) Birmingham, Champions Trophy(2018) Breda and Bronze in Junior Asia Cup(2012) Malacca, Asia Cup(2018) Jakarta, Hockey World League(2016-17) Bhuvneshwar and Olympics Games (2020) Tokyo. Amit also played for clubs such as Ranchi Rhinos and Kalinga Lancers. He played with legendary players like Ashley Jackson, Austin Smith, and Moritz Fuerte in the club. He is also in the Railway Sports Promotion Board and Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Club.
