Mandar Rao Dattarao Dessai is a football player who was born on 18th March 1992 in the city of Mapusa in Goa in India. He plays as a left winger in his football teams and is currently a part of the Goa football team. He began as a part of Dempo in 2013 and continued till 2016. He played his debut match in the 2013-2014 I-League on 22nd September 2013 against Shillong Lajong.

He took part in 30 matches whilie scoringthree goals in three years for Dempo. In 2014 he entered football club of Goa on loan and yet again in 2014. In the 2014 Indian Super League, he gave an impressive performance with good pace and presence of mind in the field. Histallyshows a total of 26 appearances for FC goa during his loan period.
After the ISL in 2014, Madar went back and joined Dempo for the 2014-2015 Indian Federation Cup. He appeared 14 times in the matches played. For the 2015 Indian Super League, he was retained by the goa Football club, owing to his outstanding performance in the last league. Madar played another 26 matches for Goa football team in 2016 and earned four goals. He scored a goal in the first game of the league against the Delhi Dynamos and led his team to a victory.
In the 2015 Indian Super League, Madar Rao won the Hero of the Match award for his impeccable performance against the Delhi Dynamos and Pune city. Then, he scored his next goal against Kerala Blaster in Kochi on November 2015. Madar once again returned to Dempo to complete his contract which was valid till the end of 2016-2017 season. In 2017 he joined Bengaluru football team.
From the 2016 season of Indian Super League, Madar signed a deal which is permanent. At the national level, he played for the under-23 team for India in 2015. He played in the team in the Asian games of 2014 against UAE. He was also the captain for Goa-India during the Lusophone games in 2014. He made four appearances and scored one goal. He also led his team to the Gold medal and beat Mozambique team in the under-20 format in the final match.
