Shashaa Tirupati is a Indian playback singer and was born on 21st December 1987. She is also a lyricist and gives her voice. Her first song as an individual singer is “Vaada Vaada” from the Tamil movie Kochadaiiyaan, under the musical direction of AR Rahman, starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone But, this song did not get her talent noticedThe song “Aye Mr Minor” from Kaaviya Thalaivan, starring Siddharth and Vedika gained her immediate fame. With her second song, she was nominated for theprestigious Big Music Awards: Tamil 2015. OK Kanmani is one of her recent albums.
She has been singing since the age of six. She presented her first stage show when she was only eight. With a keen interest in music, she started learning Hindustani Classical music fromthe age of ten . Coming to her formal education, Shashaa is now pursing her second master’s degree from Symbiosis College, Pune. She has completed her MBA in Marketing. She is a bright student and was awarded with several scholarships in her childhood. Her talent was recognized by presenting her with the Governor General's Medallion for the topmost achiever of the graduation class of 2005 in the Canadian province.
She was first auditioned by AR Rahman for Coke Studio 3 and later she was given a chance to sing for Kochadaiiyaan. She was then signed to sing songs in Bollywood for the songs like
Bumm Bumm Bole
and Yeh Stupid Pyar. Sashaa appeared in MTV Unplugged Season 4. The Academy Award winner AR Rahman featured her to perform in his international tours “Infinite love” and “RahmanIshq”. She won six Sangeet Natak Awards in classical and light classical music.
