Rachit Agarwal

Rachit Agarwal is an Indian Bollywood and Sufi singer. He came into limelight from the Indian singer reality show, The Voice India. He appeared in season two of the show. Rachit was born in the city of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India.

He is a budding playback singer who is building up his career. He also performs in stage shows around the country. He was born in the locality of Purana Bazaar in Dhanbad. His family consists of his parents and his younger sister.

His father Ratan Lal Agarwal is a garment shop owner and his mother Anita Agarwal is a house lady; his younger sister is Ruchika Agarwal. At a tender age he was interested in classical music, so he began his training in Dhanbad under his mentor B.K Singh. He went to Dhanbad Public school from where he did his high schooling.

In 2012, he completed his senior studies from Rajkamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Dhanbad. Later on, he went to Mumbai to complete his graduation. He got graduated from the RK Podder College in 2015. During his college years, he became famous on campus because of his vocals. He participated in inter-college events and won many medals.

In 2016, Rachit gave the auditions for the Indian Singing reality show, The Voice. It took three rounds for Rachit to enter into the Voice. At the show, he was in maestro Salim Merchant’s team. He with his melodious voice outperformed at the show; he reached the Knock-out rounds. Rachit’s strong classical base helped him gain a considerable fan following.

His idol was also a boy from Dhanbad who appeared in another singing show, Indian Idol. Meiyang Chang found his way into movies and shows.

Getting inspired by him, Rachit wants to live the same dream too and aspires to become a stage performer and an acclaimed Sufi Singer. He believes that his family’s encouragement has always helped him in his journey of music.

His parents and his younger sister have always supported his singing. He is currently working with singer Kailash Kher’s academy where he is working on lyrics of some songs. Rachit aspires to be a great singer of Indian music someday.
