Madhu Rani is a famous Ghazal singer of Indian origin. She is fondly called - Mallika-e-Ghazal . She belongs to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. She was born on April 25, in the year 1944. She left Ayodhya at the age of 11 to pusue a career in music and has not returned to her hometown since then. Her education up to Class X was completed at Maharaja Public School in Ayodhya, where she was trained by masters from the Kirana and Patiala Gharana. Following her departure from Ayodhya, she pursued her music education in Delhi and resided in the Okhla locality.
She then engaged in government assignments in the field of radio and traveled extensively across the country before settling in Mumbai. Her journey in the world of music began under the guidance of her uncle, Baburam, who himself was a student of Ahmed Jan Thirakwa Khan, a renowned tabla player.
