The Indian vocalist Narendra Chanchal, who was born on October 16, 1940, specialised in hymns and spiritual music. Chanchal has performed various bhajans in addition to songs from Hindi movies. He was the voice behind many famous bhajans and Hindi movie tunes. Chanchal was born on October 16, 1940, in Namak Mandi, Amritsar, to a devout Punjabi Hindu family. His upbringing in a religious environment gave him the motivation to begin singing bhajans and aartis. In 1976, he married Namrata Chanchal. Hemant Puri is the husband of his only daughter, Kapila Puri, and he also has two sons, Siddharth and Mohit Chanchal.
