Ashmani Kundu

Ashmani Kundu is known to have a rich musical background. She started to learn music from her mother, Srimati Ujani Kundu, at the age of four. Her father, Sri Ashit Kundu, is also a music lover and gave full support to her. She did high school in Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Salt Lake and Aditya Academy, Senior Secondary, Dumdum. She completed her university studies at Gokhale Memorial Girls College, Calcutta University, St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and Ballygunj Science College, Calcutta University. She did her Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Geography and B. Ed. at the University of Calcutta, West Bengal (2011-13). She also did an M.A. in Vocal Music at Rabindra Bharati University. 

She has worked at Aditya Academy, Senior Secondary, Dumdum. She joined Shrutinandan in 1998 under the teachers Sri Soumen Podder, Sri Bidhan Mitra, Srimati Sujata Basu, and Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. She worked as a music teacher at Shrutinandan, A Music Kingdom- Created by Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty in 2018. She is very inclined towards Ghazals, Rabindrasangeet, Bengali Puratoni, and modern genres of music. She is a regular performer in TV shows on the channels like Doordarshan Bangla, CTVN, Ruposhi Bangla, and Colors. She has also worked as an All-India Radio artist. She has worked on the background scores of many films and serials. She won first prize in Ghazal and Bhajan from Rajya Sangeet Academy. She was also the first runner-up in Rabindrasangeet and Bhajan in the Murari Smriti Music Competition.
