Like any typical Bangla family, her Bangaon based parents encouraged her to adopt classical singing since a young age .Her maternal family is associated with music.

Her mother herself is a singer and hence music comes naturally to her little girl. She received initial training from her maternal uncle followed by Pune's Ravindra Ganguly. Her first song was the Bengali track Barandaye Roddur. She is a presently a student of class 10 at St. Xavier's school. In one of the episodes she experimented with Marathi Folk and left the audience and the judges awestruck.

Due to the exposure from the platform her Hindi speakingabilities have been honed to perfection. Encouraged by famous singer Pritam, she tried singing latest songs rather than crooning old melodies. It has roused in her a passion for qawwalis and ghazals. With an aim to become a playback singer, she spends four hours each day in riyaz.
