Loy Mendonsa, who is part of the Bollywood films music composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. She took a Bachelors of Arts degree at the St. Xaviers’ College in Mumbai. Being a daughter of a popular music composer, Alyssa never likes the fame and attention. She grew up being shy and a loner, but her passion for music started at an early age. She does her research and sings when nobody is around. There was even a time when she sang at a cultural programmed and her mom was surprised to see her. She doesn’t have a formal training in singing, but her dad decided to train her. During her vacations, she started going to the studio.
Shankar Mahadevan, who has known her since childhood knows that she can sing and used to encourage her to sing. One time, Shankar gave her a few lines and asked her to sing. She was unaware that her voice was being recorded and they liked it. Eventually, this led her to sing Uff Teri Adaa, which was used in the 2010 psychological thriller film,
Karthik Calling Karthik. This became her debut in the music industry and everything happened so fast in her career. Also in 2010, she sang the songs Oh Girl You’re Mine and Papa Jaag Jaayega for Sajid Khan’s comedy film, Housefull.

Break Ke Baad was well-received by the audiences. Her breakthrough song Khaabon Ke Parinday from the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) also became very popular. She also rendered the song entitled Meen in the 2013 Malayalam film, Amen. Alyssa has also sung the song “Be You” for Jabong.com, a fashion and lifestyle e-commerce portal based in Gurgaon, which was featured in different India TV channels. She also sang Kushfehmiyan with Shankar Mahadevan for the 2014 Hindi romantic comedy film,
One By Two and Phi Bhi Yeh Zindagi for the 2015 comedy-drama film,
Dil Dhadakne Do.
