Shruti tewari is an excellent screenplay writer. She studied mass communication at the DAVV Indore School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Since December 2013, she has worked as a story, screenplay, and dialogue writer for fictional and nonfiction television programs. She received the YBCA Artist Power Convenings grant and a BraveMaker Pitch Fest grant for her short film, "Stain Resistant," after being chosen for the Women of Color Filmmakers Lab. She was formerly a member of the Playground Writers pool. She completed the Sundance Collab directors and Producers programs to create her first film, "Flares," the screenplay for which won the Alliance of Women Filmmakers Scriptwriting Competition and placed in the finals of the Big Apple Film Festival and WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Screenwriting Lab. She has also advanced to the second round of the screenplay competition at the Austin Film Festival Pitch Fest in 2020 and is a finalist in 2020.
She co-wrote and oversaw the production of the short film "Trail Past Prejudice" in 2018, which had its world premiere at the Delhi International Film Festival, won the Silver Remi Award at WorldFest Houston, and was acquired by Shorts TV, UK. She created, produced, and directed the short film "Mum" in 2021 and has received praise at several international film festivals, including the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific Film Festival. San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles have all hosted performances of her comedy "Bibijis and Auntyjis." She also received a Certificate of Honor from the City and County of San Francisco for using the arts to impact at-risk youth positively. She has worked with at-risk youth for over ten years.
