Zenaida Mastura

Zenaida Mastura, also known as Bai Zenaida is a producer in the Bollywood film industry of Filipino origins. Zenaida was born in Mindanao, Philippines. Ever since her childhood, Zenaida had an eye for creativity and was a huge movie buff. She watched many Hollywood and Bollywood films and always dreamt of getting into film-making.

After completing her graduation in nursing, her passion for films led Zenaida to the prestigious SAE Institute, Singapore. At SAE, Zenaida was excelling and she learnt a lot about how to engineer a movie from it’s inception to the end. Soon her love for Indian cinema landed her in Mumbai. In Mumbai she joined Whistling Woods International Film School. At WWI she learned a lot about what goes behind the scenes at movie sets, about how the production work is done and many other statistical issues.

Soon after finishing up her graduation from Whistling Woods, Zenaida got a script on her hands, which would go on to become her first ever movie that she produced as being the main producer. It was Ek Bura Admi,. Zenaida was especially drawn to the scrip and story of the movie because she herself belongs to a political family in Philippines.

The movie is about the dirty game of politics being played in UP and Bihar. In an interview Zenaida said how being the sister of a prominent politician in Philippines made her gravitate towards the story so much as she could portray how the politicians who do wrong, also do it for various reasons and she wanted to shed a light on this subject which isn’t much talked about.

For the promotion, Zenaida hesitated to do the interviews and she let the actors do most of the publicity as she is relatively less known in Bollywood. Apart from her first produced movie, Zenaida also co produced two other movies.
