Gautam Adhikari was an Indian producer, writer, and director. As a well-known name in the Marathi television industry, he produced several Marathi films and TV shows. His wife is Ranjana Adhikari. Unfortunately, he died at 67 due to a heart attack at his house in Mumbai. He was the chairman and co-founder of SAB TV, one of the most popular television channels known for unique comedy shows. He was also the former chairman of TV Vision Limited.
Considered a pioneer of the Marathi Television Industry, Gautam completed his diploma before pursuing his career in production and direction. He started a small family business with Markand Adhikari, the “Adhikari Brothers” leading producers. Later, the brothers launched their family-owned firm named “Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) Group” in 1985. The firm was India's first publicly advertised television production company, which produced Marathi serials initially but later on carried production and business purposes.
One of the most popular shows telecasted on the SAB channel is “Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” Under his guidance, the company rose to new heights and achieved several milestones.
