Fakir Chand Mehra, the man behind Eagle Films label, was born on August 29, 1923, in Peshawar, British India (now Pakistan). He ended up playing a vital part in establishing the vast brand of conventional Hindi movies as a producer commencing in the mid-1950s. The concept of film distribution came up during one of his commercial travels to Afghanistan. He was impressed by the thought of pursuing the movie industry in Afghanistan after witnessing the peoples' passion for Indian films there.
