Dhawal Gusain

Dhawal Gusain, the firm's COO, has been with TVF since 2015. Dhawal has more than a decade of experience in the industry and has held management and leadership positions in various sectors and countries. He has previously employed in India and the United States for Hindustan Unilever Limited, PwC's Strategy & (formerly Booz & Company), and DropThought (a VC-backed Silicon Valley start-up). Dhawan previously served as the CEO of TVF, an online digital entertainment channel that debuted in 2010. It has produced several youth-oriented shows. Permanent Roommates, their online series, was once the world's second most-watched long-form web series. In the year 2020, he departed TVF. He is currently employed with Disney and Hotstar. He was born on June 24, 1983, and grew up in Delhi's R.K. Puram district. He graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and was a classmate of previous CEO Arunabh Kumar, who also attended the institute. He attended Stanford Business School and has operated in a variety of industries in India and overseas. He was the driving force behind the industry's move from YouTube to Brightcove, a cloud-based platform; he began by posting his videos on YouTube, as do other media start-ups in India.

Gusain needed a more complex, reliable, and flexible video streaming technology as his video library increased, so he could run his distribution channel and support a long-term monetization strategy. Brightcove became an obvious decision for him as a result of these factors. He is a vocal proponent of over-the-top (OTT) content and believes content makers should leverage Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube networks.
